Irrelevant is just a word

It shouts to us this way

You can’t be special, wanted, loved

Such foolishness I say

 

So many in this world today

Feel lonely, shunned and lost

How do we fight these thoughts at last

Let us never bear the cost

 

You are important, each one of you

To this world, one and all

You were put here for a reason

Please believe it;  do not fall

 

Please do not fall victim to

Helpless thoughts inside;  The silent cries

You must not let them have their way

You matter, you are loved, please dry your eyes

 

The thought that I don’t  matter

Has tortured me, it’s true

I never will let it be

Who I am!   Now how about you?

    An emotional post Pat. Thanks for sharing. In this day and age many folks do feel “irrelevant” especially if they are living alone and trying to make sense of their lives. Too many of these people start to infuse the word irrelevant into their own lives. But this is “fake news”. All of us are important. We all have contributions to make in this life. Your poetry and thoughts are important to those people who are grappling with a similar indifferent reality. By sharing your thoughts in this forum you are helping others more fully appreciate their own life situations. Thank you for sharing. Always welcomed and appreciated. 🙂
